On June 27th, Island Alpaca welcomed their first-born of the season, a healthy 17.6 pound female. The sire is our own, Angelito of Island Alpaca, and the dam, Estrada's Marcella of Island Alpaca.

Alpaca Visit Boston State House
Island Alpaca climbed Beacon Hill March 22, to the Boston State House to welcome guests for the Governor's Reception and to attend the Massachusetts 24th Annual Governor's Conference on Travel and Tourism, Leadership Summit, the following day. Both events were a huge success thanks to the efforts of many conference sponsors, and the Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism, in particular Dagny Ashley, the conference coordinator. And of course, a special thank you to Phoenix Russell, and the alpacas, Dom and Moshup.. Our visit was a well received by many!

This year, Island Alpaca Hosted a "Business After Hours" event at our farm along with Gina Stanley of the Art Cliff Diner, who so generously provided the delectables.
We were very thrilled to introduce our farm and our prized herd to the community!

Island Alpaca First Born 2009
With a great deal of excitement, on cloudy Saturday afternoon, we found Island Alpaca "Margeaux" acting a bit unusual...Much to our surprise, she was going into labor. Based on our breeding dates, we had anticipated "Luna" to be the first alpaca to give birth this year. Please welcome "Margeaux's" first cria, a light gray, female cria, not yet named!
