At approximately 300 yards, each skein should easily make an amazing hat or two, pair of mittens or gloves, leg warmers, or even a generous scarf. (For an extra long or wide scarf or leg warmers, we suggest two skeins). The options are endless! Note: Supply is limited.

Island Alpaca yarn is one of the most precious yarns you will find. Using the Island Alpaca harvest from our spring shearing, this yarn is spun at a local New England mini mill using only environmentally safe products with great attention to detail.
This mini-mill uses a state-of-the-art fiber washer and fiber separator which is used to eliminate vegetation, guard hair and much shorter "second-cuts" if there are any. This process increases dramatically, the "comfort-factor", optimizing the overall quality of the yarn, leave you with softest end-product available.
Treat yourself or a friend to this wonderful, "home grown" yarn. All skeins are labeled with the name and a photograph of the alpacas that created this yarn. Hand-wash in cold water using a mild soap. Do not agitate or use chlorine bleach.
Care Instructions: Cold water wash with mild soap. Lay flat to dry.
Grown and harvested on Martha's Vineyard, delivered and spun in New Hampshire. Made in the USA
At Island Alpaca, we give regular fiber supplements and ground flax daily to our alpaca, helping to promote overall good health and a superior quality fleece. Our alpaca fleece is so fine, that, last year, a large portion of our "seconds" (neck fiber) were re-sorted into the "prime" (blanket) category. Our textile lab has shown results that indicate that our alpaca are some of the finest in the country.
At Island Alpaca's annual shearing, we skirt and hand-sort the fleeces in order to produce a range of products which use all grades of fiber.
