Aquinnah (Pietro's Aquinnah of Island Alpaca)

Aquinnah, named after the ancient tribal town on the South Easter Coast of Martha's Vineyard has done her mom and dad proud. Aquinnah has had the benefit of inheriting both of her parents positive traits. She has the most lustrous, fine fleece, and lots of it!

Loads of personality and grace Pietro's Aquinnah will likely become a terrific producer like her dam Molly.

Aquinnah, named after the an ancient Wampanoag Indian tribal town, situated on the west coast of Martha's Vineyard, formerly known as Gay Head, entered the world on Mother's Day, 2008 without disruption.

She had a very strong immunity level at birth, (IgG) an was up and about in no-time. She has a very fine fleece, and we could expect it to remain very fine, as her sire, Pietro, at 3 years of age, was at 21 micron.

Take advantage of her new low price!

ARI#: 842372 Bay Black Peruvian and Chilean

Molly is a young, tried and true mom, with a very inquisitive personality.

Because Molly has blessed Island Alpaca with both a wonderful male and two females, Ansel and Annie, and finally Aquinnah, just this year, this allows us to offer a wonderful proven female still in the early part of her reproductive career. Molly seems too, that when bred to grey she produces grey!

Sire:

Island Alpaca Pietro

Pietro is a very fine alpaca. (he was 18.5 Micron at 1-1/2 years old and just at 21.5 at nearly 3 years of age. ) With incredible luster and very high frequency crimp Pietro is abundantly covered with this fine fiber from his top-knot to his toes. He adds tremendous fineness to his offspring.

Those with "hands-on" are always amazed at how soft his fleece is even at his mature age!

His lovely grey face and masculine head is true to huacaya-type with incredible coverage topping a conformationally correct frame that is well balanced.

Pietro's first four cria have arrived this year. Please find them in the show-circuit in 2009! ( Don't miss their photos in the slide show)

We are proud to offer his genetics at Island Alpaca!
