Island Alpaca First Born 2015 - June 2015

We believe that Marcella gave birth between 5:00 - 5:30 am on June 27, 2015. Marcella did give birth early, her 11 months was July 3rd. Alpaca gestation is 11.5 months on average, but can go 11 months…even to 12 months.

As we checked her over she seemed healthy and strong. Upon further examination we did discover that she is premature. She doesn't have that stop her though! She's doing great each and every day and Marcella is being an excellent mother! This is our first cria from Marcella, as well as from Angelito (the sire/dad). We are very happy with the results!

Today she is full of energy and is growing into quite the lovely young alpaca.
