Layla (Estrada's Layla of Island Alpaca) |
Layla is a curious girl who's fleece is very unique. She has fleece that is soft that has a tight crimp, it even seems to have a little grey in it. Her fleece almost seems like a mix of browns and dark greys, very interesting! Layla's sire is CT Estrada who has won multiple champions and blues.
Judge commented for the Southern Select Alpaca Show 2013: "Nice hand. Good staple definition. With spinning there was good control and it drafted smoothly!"

Luna Luna has beautifully dense fleece well-defined staple and a charming discernible white-striped top-knot. This gorgeous gal is a beautifully superlative manifestation of all that one would want in a female alpaca.
A blue ribbon winner at her first show she elicited the following judges comments; "a beautifully constructed female with great density for such a young animal"..."her fiber has exceptional crimp and is consistent from tail bone to head"..."the fiber is also soft and dense with a luster that jumps out at you"..."her walk is elegant and her posture is very strong and consistent with high value alpacas": clearly, Luna has it all, and with a mellow, motherly disposition to boot!
She possesses all of the fiber attributes one would expect from her famous sire, 4Peruvian Altiplano, a well recognized champion who has produced an amazing number of show winners, and whose offspring are highly sought after. His reputation for consistently producing high quality offspring is unmatched by most males. He has an amazing ability to pass on positive traits in fleece and conformation with over 90% of his offspring (or those with his lineage) placing first and second in tough local and national competitions. His cria have shown instant improvement over their dams. Even dams of the highest quality have crias that are a step up with Altiplano Gold as their mate. All the right positives to the right degree to produce the complete quality offspring. In density, coverage, architecture, and crimp, fleeces are taken to the next level. Body types are improved with heavier bone and greater "type" in style.
Luna was been bred to our own CT. Estrada, a medium fawn multiple champ & blue ribbon winner. Luna's first cria is a lovely locked, dense female, the lovely Lunette, a medium brown alpaca-- just recently awarded Champion, and two blues.
Luna has proven to be an excellent mother--always pausing for her cria, incredibly attentive! |
| Sire: |
Chase Tavern Estrada
Estrada is a well-balanced male from two top parents. His Sire, Evander does it again with this amazingly dense, fine fleece male with a great handle and luster, extensive coverage and a great body. With his 2010 shearing, Estrada had over 10 pounds of fleece, which is an incredible 6+% of his overall body weight! We are very excited to have Estrada in our breeding program. Alpaca judge, Wade Gease has said about Estrada, "He is the "complete package". Very nice fleece style and crimp formation throughout. He has kept his fineness/softness." Also, recently, Judge David Barboza has said about Estrada: "His architecture and density is incredible! Spot on!" And Alpaca Fleece Judge, Cheryl Gehly has written: "Wow! Fine with great character! Quite uniform for micron." "Beautiful Fleece: fine, bright, well organized!". awarding him first place in the competition, and again, after the fleeces third showing at the 2009 Empire Symposium and Fleece Event, she commented again;"Beautiful Fleece: fine, bright, well organized!". Most recent fleece circuit, Estrada's fleece (its fourth showing) took yet another blue at PAOBA show, May, 2009.
To date, Estrada has multiple Champ/Reserve Championships, and over twenty first-place, blue-ribbon awards. See the details of his show record below, most in very competitive classes! In 2009, Estrada's Fleece won the reserve Championship, and took first place in his class over another amazing alpaca who won the 2008 Futurity Championship that had 54 entries in the class!
Both dam and sire have produced Championship winners so his future is extremely promising indeed.
Estrada is settling females. Traditional farm breedings with confirmed pregnancy, stud fee: $2,500, $2,000, mobile*, and $1,500 for drive-by breeding.
Please compare this champ to other herd-sires with similar show records. You will find him to be a terrific value! |
